Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy
Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy is the technique in which sclerotherapy is done under direct visualization of the vein on an ultrasound screen. This technique allows us to treat veins that cannot be seen because they are below the surface of the skin.
This approach is better suited to treat incompetent perforator veins and selected tributary and anastomose veins. This procedure is painless and fast. Patients need to wear an ace wrap for 24 hours and then compression stockings for 6 more days.
